Dr. Andrea Giannaccari was born in Rome on September 29, 1974. He earned a laurea in Economics in 1998-1999 from the LUISS “Guido Carli” University (Rome), discussing a thesis in Comparative Private Law. In 2003, he earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Competition Law and Economics at the Erasmus University (Rotterdam); in 2005, he was awarded a Ph.D. in Law and Economics from the LUISS University.

Currently, Dr. Andrea Giannaccari is an assistant professor at IMT School for Advanced Studies (Lucca), where he has also held research fellow and post-doc positions. He is a member of the CERM Foundation; a founding member of the Italian Society of Law and Economics and a member of the Editorial Board of the law and economics review Mercato Concorrenza Regole.

In 2003, Dr. Andrea Giannaccari was appointed as a member of the working group jointly established by the Bordoni Foundation and the Rosselli Foundation on Intellectual Property and Standardization in the ICT Sector. In 2004, he has been a researcher at the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation (Turin). He has also conducted research activity in collaboration with the IRI Foundation and the Polithecnical University of Turin.

Dr. Andrea Giannaccari specializes in competition policy, intellectual property and economic analysis of law. He also deals with the regulation of media markets and liberalizations processes with specific emphasis on network industries. He is involved in teaching activities (at undergraduate, graduate, master courses and doctorate level); and is author of many published papers and conference presentations, mostly focused on law and economics and the law and economics of intellectual property and competition policy.
