Dr. Gianluca Faella is adjunct professor of Intellectual Property at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna and of Law & Economics at University of Naples Federico II. Ph.D. in Law and Economics at LUISS “Guido Carli” University of Rome since 2005 and Senior Research Fellow at the Law & Economics LAB since 2003. In 2013 he obtained the national scientific qualification as associate professor in Economics, Financial and Agri-Food Markets Law and Regulation. He was adjunct professor of Competition Law & Economics at LUISS in 2011-2012, research fellow at LUISS in 2008-2012 and research scholar at the New York Law School in 2005. He obtained an LL.M. degree in Competition Law & Economics from the Erasmus Universiteit of Rotterdam in 2003. He lectured on antitrust law, state aids and contract law issues in several master courses at the Università di Pisa, Università Tor Vergata of Rome, LUISS “Guido Carli” and LUISS Business School of Rome. Since 2005, he is an associate of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, resident in the Rome office. He focuses on EU and Italian competition law and regulation and assisted Italian and foreign companies in several proceedings before the European Commission, the Italian Competition Authority, the Italian Communications Authority and administrative and civil courts. He delivered speeches at numerous conferences in Italy and abroad. He authored a book on discount policies of dominant firms (“Politiche di Sconti delle Imprese Dominanti”, Ed. Giappichelli, Turin, 2012) and several articles and essays on competition law, intellectual property, unfair competition and civil law.
